today we’re headed to the beautiful pacific northwest and a charming little Seattle spot i think you’re gonna like. welcome to oddfellows cafe & bar, brought to us by The Derschang Group who have been creating spaces in Seattle for friends to get together since 1994. passionate about community, oddfellows indeed has a very communal vibe and is a cafe and bar that serves simple, fresh food all day & night long influenced by peasant French and Italian dishes without pretense — think polenta fries, hanger steak and butternut squash & sage risotto washed down with a bit of bourbon. oh, yes, please. we’re gonna get a bit peasant-like ourselves in an adorable smocked maxi dress, cowboy boots with a fresh twist, our favorite rancher hat and since Seattle can be chilly, a fun faux fur. if you’re looking for something to read while waiting for your table, i just finished the nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney — a funny and very perceptive novel about four adult siblings and the fate of the shared inheritance that has shaped their life choices and the fraught yet unbreakable ties we share with those we love.
